If there’s anything I’ve learned about life so far, it’s that life is really short, and you have to make the most of every moment and experience you get. You’ll never know when they will be gone. But seriously.
You know what happens. You promised to swim for the entire summer because winter was awful, but you never made it to a pool. You may have beaten yourself up because you ate too much chocolate at the party last night. But in reality, you gained nothing and wasted all your energy on guilt and stress when you could have enjoyed your company and that last delicious bite.
Do I have a case to make? Do you believe that it is important to enjoy the present moment and the small things? I hope you are. I hope so.
S’moreos* are the best because they can be made either inside or outside. You don’t even need a fire pit or campfire! All you need is an oven with a broiler.
What else are they simple? Only three ingredients, 5 min, and one pan are required. Is it possible to make this any better? I don’t think so.
Assembly is also super easy. Top half of the Oreos, toast them until they are golden brown, and drizzle on some salty peanut butter. Then, top with the other Oreo.
Ingredients
- Oreos whole (GF varieties are available in some stores, such as Trader Joe’s).
- Ten marshmallows are real (see notes for vegan brands)
- 5 Tbsp of salted natural creamy Peanut Butter (slightly heated until pourable).
Instructions
- Set the oven rack to the second-highest position. Preheat oven to high broil.
- Place 10 Oreos on a baking tray (as per the original recipe // adjust the batch size if you are changing it) and top them with a mini marshmallow (or more).
- Broil at high heat for 1-3 minutes.
- Remove each from the oven, and top with 1/2 Tbsp of peanut butter. (Warm in the microwave briefly if it is not pourable), followed by a second Oreo.
- Eat immediately.
